Dear MEL Topic Readers,
Samsung becomes first tech giant to launch a smart ring
A smart ring is a compact wearable electronic device that combines
mobile technology with features for convenient on-the-go use. Just like a
smartwatch, it tracks health indicators such as heart rate, sleeping time, and menstrual
cycle. Smart rings can operate independently or connect to smartphones or other
devices communicating with cloud-based systems. Though smart rings tend to have
fewer features than smartwatches, they are more convenient, comfortable, and
botherless than smartwatches especially during sleep. Recently, Samsung
introduced the smart ring version of its proud Galaxy series, the Galaxy Ring,
hoping to explore a prospective, yet nitch market. When the ring is connected
to a Samsung Galaxy device, Galaxy AI features are provided such as energy score
and personalized suggestions. One question is whether you want to allow Samsung
to monitor your health data including menstrual cycles to receive such suggestions.
However, adding a ring to your finger seems easier than adding or replacing a
watch around your wrist.
Read the article and learn about what a smart ring could provide.
