Dear MEL School’s Topic Readers,
China-Japan meetings are more than just
talks
It seems that Chinese administration is
sending a clear message to Japan and the world. The tension between the two neighboring
countries has been historically high because of the disputes over the Senkaku
or Diaoyu Islands in the East China Sea. There have been countless numbers of
air scrambling and maritime engagement. Any such military and maritime activities
could go out of control if no communication hot line is established. However,
neither party seems to be willing to overcome the reluctance, waiting for the
other’s move or reaction.
Enjoy reading and learning how China wants
to avoid clear and present danger.
