Dear MEL Topic Readers
Pilot pulls off incredible sideways landing at Bristol Airport
Safety is the highest priority for transportation business, especially for airlines that carry passengers. Punctuality, seat occupancy, and fuel efficiency all come after the safety of the passengers. So, pilots are trained to avoid risks when they take off, fly, and land.
Recently, one of the techniques to land a plane safely in heavy winds was implemented at Bristol airport, England and was video-recorded. The technique applied during the landing is called crabbing to ground the plane. In the video, you’ll see the nose of the airplane heading toward the side wind until it touched down. Looks quite amazing.
But how were the passengers and crew members on the airplane feeling or seeing during this extraordinary maneuver?
In the meanwhile, some other airplanes were forced to divert to other airports after a few attempts. Was that then a miracle or safe landing?
Enjoy watching this jaw-dropping landing video by a skilled pilot who only became captain last year.
