BBC director general resigns after erroneous child abuse
report.
A day after US CIA director’s abrupt resignation, there was
another big head resignation from a public broadcaster across the Atlantic, the
BBC’s director general, who had assumed the post only less than two months ago,
for broadcasting false claims by a sex abuse victim by a senior politician back
in the 1980s.
The resigned director said in his “public announcement” that
his resignation was an honorable thing to do because the role of the director
general is also the editor in chief and ultimately responsible for all content.
