Topic Reading-Vol.61-6/11/2012

Dear MEL School's Topic Readers,
Drastic measures as China students sit exams!
Do you think your exams are tougher than any others in the world? In Japan, as low as 1.05 million new babies were born last year (2011), while approximately a little over that number of students are taking so called "Center Exams" this past January.
In China, nearly 10 million students are taking national college entrance exams, which could or most likely determine their academic fate, these two days for six million slots at universities nation wide.
There are numbers of extraordinary activities around the exam locations, including special meals, nanny services and special devices to fool the exam.
Enjoy reading and learning how serious the exam is for Chinese.
