Dear MEL School’s
Topic Readers,
Meet the armless
table tennis champion who proves 'nothing is impossible'
If you were
armless, not just one but both, which would be your choice to play, play football
or table tennis?
Perhaps 999 of
1,000 would pick a football rather than a racket. Yes he did so first but this
Egyptian man, then just a teenager, wanted another challenge. He started
vigorous training to play table tennis when he was 13, three years after he
lost his arms in an accident, and became one of the most successful and honored
Paralympic athletes in the world.
He believes nothing
is impossible, as long as one works hard. He appears to the public event to
show his skills and determination to encourage the young not to give up.
Enjoy seeing this
amazing man playing table tennis and learning what a person can possibly do.
