Dear MEL School’s Topic Readers,
Japan talk of warning shots heats up China dispute.
This headline hasn’t seemed to have been covered much by
Japanese media, save a few or quite differently, though it is definitely a very
critical national defense and diplomatic issue on the disputed islands in the
East China Sea.
Tracer bullets, though not intending to shoot down but to
warn intruding aircraft that further actions can be taken should the intrusion
continues, could spin out of control, like history tells us, especially when
China is under extreme pressure on economic growth, human rights, and controls
on the press and freedom in the midst of its leadership transition.
Enjoy reading and learning how a single issue could be
viewed and talked differently by the media and from perspectives.
