Brazil deforestation hits record low.
A little over 60% of the Amazon’s rainforests lies in Brazil
which has been tightening its grip to reduce deforestation by 80% by the year 2020
from 1990 levels. It sounds like a significant achievement if you think of the
sheer size of the rainforests that lie in the area where neither constant surveillance
nor continuous patrolling is practicable.
Despite the significant achievement, their war to reduce
illegal deforestation seems still far from over. They seem to have a lot of
battles to fight and win, not only for themselves, but also for the entire globe.
So, may more assists or supports should be provided by other countries,
especially the ones that produce more greenhouse gasses than others, namely
Cxxxx and the XX.
