Another tragic gun incident by a child in the US. This time, a 3-year-old girl unintentionally shot her four-year-old sister in an apartment bedroom in Texas. They were there unattended when a gunshot was heard by other family members. Even in Texas, where carrying a handgun openly in a holster is legal, the gun owner is likely to be responsible for failing to secure the loaded weapon. In fact, there were over 2,000 unintentional shootings like this by children under 18 between 2015 and 2020 in the US, and nearly 40% of the shooters were below 10 years old children.
