How we can tell an
accident from purposeful actions.
Judging whether a
someone else’s action is intentional or accidental seems to determine or at least
influence what to do, the editor of this article says. After reading the
experiments and conclusions, it sounds fairly reasonable. But what is
surprising is the experiments were conducted not only human infants but also
some animals and even birds. Can they really read another’s behavior is
intentional or accidental?
