Dear MEL School’s
Topic Readers,
Climate Change
Could Alter the Human Male-Female Ratio
Are male fetuses
more vulnerable to the climate change than the ones of female? A new study by
Japanese scientists found that fewer baby boys were born nine months after a
severe temperature change than usual based on the data taken since 1968. There
have been more temperature fluctuations later in the period in Japan where the
temperature gap between winter and summer is already wider than the countries
that took similar data.
But what about the
influence of air conditioners which has become popular during the period? Can’t
modern device for comfort help reduce the impact of the recent climate change?
Enjoy reading and
learning another possible influence of the climate change.
