Dear MEL School’s Topic Readers,
Carbon dioxide passes symbolic mark.
400ppm, reads particles per million, is the same level of
CO2 in the atmosphere as was in three to five million years ago on this planet,
when the average temperature was higher than it is now.
To clarify how significant to pass this 400ppm mark is that
the measurement was only 315ppm a half century ago when it started to be taken.
You may then ask how we know the level of CO2 in a couple of millions of years
ago.
If you want to know, enjoy reading and learning how we
measure the CO2 level of now and in the past.
