Catalonia's fight for independence: Are there lessons from
the Dutch revolt?
You can always learn from history, especially the ones in
your own country or culture. Catalonia, best known apart from the capital,
Barcelona, is of course the Mediterranean coast with a population of
approximately seven and a half million, represents the one fifth of Spain’s total
economy. People in Catalonia feel unheard by the leaders and politicians in Madrid.
They also feel overtaxed and unfairly treated. There has been a move to become
independent from Spain and there are things people can learn from history,
especially the one of their country.
Enjoy reading and learning about Spain’s history of ruling
its territories.
