Peregrine Falcon image wins bird photo award
The Bird Photographer of the Year is an international photography competition organized by the British Birds magazine that celebrates the world's best bird photography. The competition has 10 categories, including Best Portrait, Birds in the Environment, Bird Behavior, Birds in Flight, Black and White, Urban Birds, Comedy Bird Photo, Young Bird Photographer of the Year, Conservation, and Portfolio. This year’s top prize was awarded to a US photographer who had waited for four years to capture the rare moment when a female falcon attacked a much larger pelican to protect her young.
