Dear MEL
Topic Readers,
Pope signals
he's open to married Catholic men becoming priests
Clerical
celibacy. It is the requirement in some religions that members of the clergy be
unmarried. Except for a small number of exemptions, this has been one of the
respected traditions in Roman Catholic.
Though this
might not be the only reason that has caused a shortage of priests in the centuries
old religious mainstream, the top of the church suggested that the church might
allow already-married men to become their priests. This could open the door to
those whose faith is different to convert, or followers of the religion to
become a priest.
Will this
move create a considerable number of new Catholic priests?
Enjoy reading
and thinking about pros and cons of Clerical celibacy.
