Dear MEL Topic Readers,
Wealth of richest 1% 'equal to other 99%'
1% of global population is roughly 70 million. And their wealth is
estimated to be as much as the rest of the population, 6,930 million has, according
to a report presented by Oxfam International, an international confederation to
find solutions to poverty and injustice around the world. The problem the
confederation wants world leaders to look at isn’t just the sheer numbers or fairness
but the trend. It seems that the inequality or the gap between the rich and
poor is widening.
In the meantime, thanks to better nutrition and healthcare, global inequality
of life expectancy are narrowing. Which matter more?
Enjoy reading and thinking what the distribution of wealth mean to the
world.
