Dear MEL School’s Topic Readers,
Why Finland won't be teaching 'math' and
'history' anymore
Keep improving is the best way to be
successful and sustainable. Of course, because once you stop moving, you’re
more easily shot or likely passed by others. Like Einstein said, “Once you stop
learning, you stat dying.”
That seems to be the motive for Finland
whose education system is known as the best in the world. They came up with a
century-old idea of combining subjects to facilitate learning and reflect real
life. It’s called phenomena teaching, which focuses more on topics rather than
subjects. In this concept, academically advancing students can work on writing
and communication development while immature students could choose to take
vocational courses.
How will it work in the classroom?
Enjoy reading and learning what the world
leader in education is attempting to do.
