How Long Does it Take to Get to Mars?
The latest mission to the red planet,
the Curiosity Lander, made its successful landing of its Mars Rover on the planet and
it has already sent numbers of photos.
How long did it take to get there? It took 253 days this
time. Why it took so long? Well, the red planet is only 55 million km away, and
if a spacecraft is travelling in excess of 20,000 km/hour, you would expect the
spacecraft to make the journey in about 115 days, but it takes much longer.
