Dear MEL
Topic Readers,
Prejudice
is not always overt
Prejudice
seems like an unavoidable behavior, whether it is recognized or not. It could
be towards a person from a foreign country, of a different religion or with an
opposing political view, not to mention to those of a different gender or race.
Classifying
people by appearance, race, nationality, background or social position is a
matter of common practice of stereotype. But acting or reacting based on the
pre-set view is prejudice, whether it is intended or not. It could lead to
discrimination, or aggression to some extent.
Enjoy reading
and learning about this hard-to-remove human practice.
