Dear MEL Topic Readers,
World leaders make history with climate deal in Paris
Accord now, action later. It is still a good start to cope with global warming.
Though it is already a clear and present danger to all now and the
future, no one wants to pay or sacrifice more than others. This egoism has been
the biggest hurdle to reach an agreement for solutions. Who have created this
problem since the Industrial Revolution? Which countries are now emitting more
greenhouse gases per capita? How much economic impact will each country have to
bear with? These are the arguments and sentiments behind the scene.
If this accord is ratified by all the member states, the world will
look more united than ever.
And if actions are followed by major greenhouse gases emitters such as
China and the U.S., more countries will follow the path. And if the world consumption
of fossil fuels decline as agreed, mother earth could be saved.
Enjoy reading and learning this historic accord.
