Sally Ride, first U.S. woman in space, dies at 61.
Another story of death? But this time is about an honorable
woman who went to space as the first female American astronaut abroad space
shuttle Challenger three decades ago. She even went back to space two years
later and spent a total of over 343 hours in space. After NASA, she became a
professor of physics at the University of California, San Diego, taught
students and wrote books.
She was even quoted by President Barack Obama as a national hero and a powerful role model.
Her last challenge was a tough one, a 17-month battle with
pancreatic cancer, which took her life away at the age of 61.
Enjoy reading and learning about this inspirational woman
